How to adjust fuel choke on subaru impresa?

Choke is running for too long and too high revs when first started 1300 revs but does drop down after a while. Thanks
Sorry, it's an 97 auto wrx and choke doesn't cut off when put into gear. But will check further Thanks

What year Impresa?
Could be sticking (dirty) throttle body flap....usually is. Although 1300 rpms at startup is not excessive but should drop down immediately if put in gear, or after about 30 seconds if left in neutral.
