A weekend crash claimed the life of a Smithtown woman. 53-year-old Teresa Hatta was driving a 2003 Honda northbound on Route 25A near River Heights Drive when 20-year-old Timothy Suozzo pulled onto the roadway. The two vehicles collided and Hatta’s car continued north until striking a tree. Hatta was taken to St. Catherine of Siena Medica Center in Smithtown where she was pronounced dead. Suozzo was not hurt. An online profile shows Hatta graduated from Smithtown High School in 1976.

An uncover sting has busted four Commack and Smithtown businesses for selling alcohol to minors Friday. Of at least six businesses investigated, two of the offenders were 7-Eleven convenience stores, according to police. Police sent an usage volunteer into at least six area businesses. Arrests for selling alcohol to a minor were made at Hess Express and Long Island Wine and Spirit in Commack. Also, 7-Elevens in Smithtown and Commack were also busted. Gasoline Heaven and Shell in Commack did refuse to sell to the volunteer.

After this peculiar call to arms, the mother then encouraged the girls to beat any girls who watched the fiasco.
