So I've written about how beautiful I think San Francisco is, but I didn't mention how achingly sad it can be when one passes a homeless man or woman on every block. One Plus Two has a guest post today that pretty much describes it all. You should read it. Me? I'm still trying to understand what has happened to me that I didn't do anything to help any of these people. Instead, I walked right on by. Every time. I read your comment over on Jen's site. Sometimes it's easy to lose sight of the immediacy of those kinds of needs. On the other hand, there has to be some kind of organized effort to create a longer term solution.
At any rate, there's no sense in beating yourself up over it. If you chose in a way that didn't feel good to you, choose again next time.
It's all about learning and making choices.

Thanks for that. You are right - balancing immediacy and systemic effort is necessary.
I'm glad Jen had that guest post; I was sweeping those thoughts under the carpet, and I wouldn't have explored it otherwise.
Lara, I am so glad it resonated.
And you know, if you want to write your own guest post on the subject over my way you have an open invitation. Always. x
